Splintered (Splintered #1) by A.G. Howard Book Review by Cassia Ashen
(This review is for a reread. Contains spoilers)Okay! I am finally getting around to writing this review! Now I just want to start off by saying that I may have a slightly biased opinion for a few reasons;A) I absolutely adore Alice in Wonderland/Alice Through The Looking Glass,B) and I have an unhealthy obsession with dark/twisted/macabre fairy retellings. This book has both! There ARE a few things that I could probably complain about if I wanted to... (romanticizing mental health patients/asylums, extremely overprotective love interest), But all in all I loved this book! One thing you should know about me is that I usually absolutely hate love triangles. I think they are tacky and cheesy and cliche.HOWEVER. A.G Howard shocked me by (almost) being able to pull off a love triangle that I could handle.I know, I know, your probably thinking; "almost? She 'almost' pulled it off?" and yes. She ALMOST pulled it off. On the one hand I'm absolutely in LOVE with Morpheus (Dark, seductive, Netherling and sensitive... umm yes please?), and on the other hand... well actually, Jeb doesn't even deserve a hand... So yeah. I'm just so obsessed with book, I highly recommend. :)
